Mutual recognition of same-sex families in the European Union

The 3rd edition of The Equality Pod was recorded at the European Parliament and this time we examine the issue of mutual recognition (or the lack of it, to be more precise) of same-sex families among EU countries. Currently, most of the EU member states have laws recognising same-sex families in one form of another. However, same-sex partners married or registered in one EU country as well as their children, are not always and not automatically recognised in other EU country. Such situation cases serious problems for same-sex families and their children and we talk to a European parliamentarian and a representative of the European Commission what the EU institutions are doing to resolve this legal jungle.
