On 29 November – 1 December 2013, ILGA-Europe organised a training on Community and organisational development in Budapest for LGBTI activists from Albania, Armenia, Georgia, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Moldova, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Human rights violations documentation training, Lisbon, 6-8 September 2013

On 6-8 September 2013, ILGA-Europe organised a training on human rights violations documentation in Lisbon for LGBTI activists from Armenia, Georgia, FYR Macedonia, Greece, Portugal and Russia.

Strategic Communications Training, 28-30 June

ILGA-Europe organised a training on strategic communications in Brussels on 28-30 June. The participants where LGBTI activists from Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Italy, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Lithuania, Serbia and Turkey.

Study visit to Council of Europe for LGBT activists from Eastern Europe, 23-27 June

At the end of June 2013 ILGA-Europe organised a study visit to Council of Europe (CoE) for LGBT activists from Russia, Moldova, and Ukraine. Seven representatives from Coming Out, Russian LGBT Network, GenderDoc-M and Ukrainian LGBT Council took part in the study visit. The goal of the study visit was to give activists an opportunity to get acquainted with the structure of CoE, to familiarise them with different internal working instruments and better understand procedures within this European institution. The study visit lasted three full days (24­–26 June) and was planned in such a way that it coincided with the Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) of CoE session. This gave the activists a unique chance to be present at some important hearings of PACE and meet with different decision making figures.

Kiev Pride 2013

Check out images from when ILGA-Europe took part in the successfull Kiev Pride 2013. About 50 LGBT activists participated in a pride march despite a ban by local authorities. The event lasted less than one hour amid a strong police presence.

Strategic Plan Meeting in Athens, June 2013

On 1-2 June, ILGA-Europe's Board, staff and representatives of member organisations met in Athens to discuss the next Strategic Plan for 2014-2018. The Strategic Plan 2014-2018 will be adopted at the Annual Conference 2013 in Zagreb in October.

EU study visit for LGBT activists from Western Balkan and Turkey

On 27-29 May 2013, ILGA-Europe organised a EU study visit for 8 participant from Western Balkans and Turkey. Several meetings were on the programme with the European Commission Directorate General of Enlargement , European External Actions Service, Commissioner Fule’s cabinet, the DROI secretariat of the European Parliament, LGBT Intergroup of the European Parliament, rapporteurs for relevant countries, EQUINET and the European Group of National Human Rights Institutions. The activists will also participate at the European Commission’s consultations on Progress reports on the Western Balkans and Turkey.

Meeting on anti-propaganda laws with key actors and LGBT activists in Kyiv

On the 27-28 May, ILGA-Europe organised a meeting in Kyiv to debate strategies to tackle proposed law banning 'homosexual propaganda'.

Protest against recent anti-democratic constitutional amendments in Hungary, Brussels, 15 March

ILGA-Europe joined the demonstration in Brussels against recent amendments to the Hungarian constitution which seriously threaten democracy and human rights of various minority groups in Hungary and go against the fundamental principles of the European Union.

Workshop with Youth Sexual Awareness for Europe (YSAFE), February 2013

On 9 February 2013, ILGA-Europe was invited to do a workshop session on advocacy at the Annual Meeting of the Youth Sexual Awareness for Europe (YSAFE) - the youth network of the IPPF European Network.

Conference: Tackling homophobic and transphobic bullying in school - the role of teachers, school leaders, NGOs and policy maker

On 20 February 2013, ILGA-Europe in association with the Irish EU Presidency hosted the first ever EU level conference addressing homophobic and transphobic bullying in schools.
