Protest outside Lithuanian embassy in Warsaw, 22 June 2009
About 25 people gathered in front of the Lithuanian Embassy in Warsaw to protest against discriminatory law passed last week by Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament).
The new law prohibits any public information which "agitates for homosexual, bisexual relations". Due to most of MPs such information may "cause detrimental effect to the development of minors".
All gathered in Warsaw read an appeal to the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus in which they asked him to veto the new homophobic law.
They also brought rainbow flags and banners calling for: „Stop Homophobia in Lithuania” and „Freedom of speech”.
Demonstration was organized by: UFA (http://www.u-f-a.pl), Elba Squat
(http://www.elba.bzzz.net) and Campaign Against Homophobia. (http://www.kph.org.pl).
